Confession of Troubles

Written and Directed by: Chloe Krasowski

Produced By: Josh Enos

Staring Kyle Drexler and Macie Love

As a culture, religion has been a common source of trauma and oppression. However, there are aspects of religion like the sense of community and spiritual peace that we must still strive for.  My short film seeks to address the general anxiety and despair that I see in y generation.

We need something to believe in, but that something isn’t organized religion.

I was fortunate to work with so many talented people on this project. Many thanks to Kyle Drexler, who was on the path to the priesthood before becoming disillusioned and pursuing an acting career. Their insight and passion greatly elevated the film.

Confession of Troubles

A messy young professional seeks a person to talk to through confession. She is initially regretful of her choice but after the priest assures her he won’t preach to her, she opens up. She describes her struggle with mental health in everyday life. The priest relates his past struggle with substance abuse. He describes church as a safe space. The woman points out how it isn’t as safe for queer women. They discuss the positive and negative impacts of religion.
